ABOUT MR. IAN KNAUER

Ian Knauer has been performing professionally for over 40 years on stages and on film in the US and all over the world. When he graduated from college he wanted to perform and travel and that is exactly what he’s done. He is equally at home on a stage singing with a full orchestra and in front of a camera acting. Ian’s most recent work includes Anastasia on Broadway, Harlem for Amazon, and cabarets at Classic Theatre of Maryland.

Ian, originally from Toledo, Ohio began singing in church and at home from a very early age. His sister and he would spend hours playing duets at the piano and singing all kinds of songs and laughing! His first professional performing job came when he was 11 playing Kurt in The Sound Of Music at the Westgate Dinner Theatre. That is when he first found his home onstage.

Ian graduated from the University of Michigan with a BFA in Musical Theatre and immediately began performing full time. Not long after graduation he moved to NY. He has performed in five Broadway shows and over 100 others in NY, Japan, China, Italy, Germany, the UK, Dubai, some of the seven seas, and all over the US. Some of his favorite performances include his first Broadway show – State Fair, his first Broadway role in By Jeeves, singing at both Carnegie Hall and The Royal Albert Hall, filming Kon-Tiki in Bulgaria, singing with the London City Big Band at The 100 Club, and playing the baddie in a pantomime in the UK (it’s so fun being the villain!).
